This does not reflect the music video at all.

Lady Gaga’s new single, Born This Way, is pretty vagerrific. Have you seen it? I don’t think about vaginas all day long but I definitely thought of them for seven minutes and twenty seconds.

But the single is also about celebrating differences and telling folks that it’s a-okay being gay, straight and anything in between.

This is kind of a problem in some countries. As much as we in America like to bitch about “censorship” we really don’t have it that badly. Malaysia, on the other hand, is kind of restrictive. Not quite as bad as some of its neighbors (hey Burma baby, sup?) but still relatively conservative socially.

So conservative that radio stations there are actually editing Gaga’s new single to avoid fines. Their reasoning? Born This Way encourages gay people to be, you know, gay.

While speaking at Google HQ Gaga asked that her fans in all countries “do everything that you can if you want to be liberated by your society, you must call, you must not stop, you must protest peacefully.”
