Sexy Sunday: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is looking really grubby in the latest super fantastic make you giddy in all your places Game of Thrones trailer.

He’s also playing a guy that’s pretty damned evil and manages to give him just the right mix of smarm and charm.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is pretty tremendous on the show and in general and when you spend ten episodes with him being evil it’s easy to forget he’s just playing a part and that the actor actually seems like a pretty cool dude.

So let us remind ourselves of other times, where he still turned in great performances but wasn’t playing incestuous evil incarnate.

Like when he was the guy from the pilot for Ron Moore’s science fiction critique of realty shows, Virtuality.

I won't spoil anything but get used to that close-cropped hair look. Which isn't hard because DANG.

Or when he was on that show New Amsterdam about a man doomed to immortality until he meets the love of his life and then he assumes it is the hot blond doctor when clearly it is his hot brunette partner.

CLEARLY a soulmate.

Or we could go even further back, when he was in Kingdom of Heaven. Man that movie is filled with lots of really good-looking guys who have to be grubbed up to make Orlando Bloom’s middle school mustache look hot.

They tried to dirty him up to make him less appealing. It did not work.

Or let’s go back to what made him a star, Nightwatch. He’s great in it but when they remade it in America someone got the bright idea to put Ewan McGregor in the lead.

All better now right? Now let’s wait for when his character on Game of Thrones gets to season three. If it keeps with the book than AWESOMENESS should follow.
