Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson Sing A Capella In Pitch Perfect

For half a second there when Glee was at its most powerful it looked like it might have spawned a whole slew of Glee clones on television and in film. Instead we just got Smash and Rock of Ages and a few movies where people maybe hum.

Ostensibly Pitch Perfect looks like one of those films. It’s about an all girl a capella group who  battle their school’s all boy a capella group and leave the rest of us wondering if there are schools that can actually support TWO a capella groups.

Just from the trailer it appears the film is fully embracing its Drumline/How She Move/Bring It On conceit of a performance art being the end all be all at a particular school. Hot to trot awesome.

And it stars Oscar-nominee Anna Kendrick. Remember when she was in New Moon and was the best part and you kind of wanted the movie to be about her writing in her diary and talking about how crazy that Swan chick was?

It also stars Rebel Wilson, who had an infected tattoo in Bridesmaids and is the very best part of a very fun trailer for Pitch Perfect.
