A Love Affair Spans A Millennia With Halle Berry And Tom Hanks In Cloud Atlas

Whelp, this film is now at the top of my list for films to see in October.

Between the Wachowskis (The Matrix) and Tom Tykwer (Run, Lola, Run) you have a  modernistic cyberpunk flare with anachronistic motifs down PAT. While before this film I never would have imagined the three to be successful collaborators after that trailer I’m feeling pretty good about their adaptation of David Mitchell’s extraordinary book.

Perhaps it’s just the story itself which has shades of Wong Kar Wai’s 2046 embedded in its seams. Or it’s the visuals–with the Sonmi story looking to stand out above the rest. Whatever the case this looks like a seriously arresting film.
