  • They Are Actually Casting That All-Women Expendables Movie And Gina Carano Is In It

Just so you know every post I write about this movie will feature this photo until they cast Melanie Griffith. Cherry 2000 totally earned her a place in this pantheon and I will brook no argument.

I’m on the record as believing we’ve already had out all-women Expendables movie and it came out twenty years ago but this is America damn it! And we want a whiter version and it needs to be a rip off of Stallone’s Expendables rather than simply a bad ass action film starring women.

So producer Adi Shankar is putting together a “female Expendables” and has attached his first BAMFtastic woman, Gina Carano.

The film has no director. No script. No required Sigourney Weaver or Melanie Griffith. So I’m not really sure what Shankar has on his hand. And I do admit to being a little confused as to why the first person attached has all of on movie to her name really while the stars of Expendables were all in the action film business since the 80s or Jason Statham. But I do admit to liking that all this effort to rip off a successful franchise by adding a gender twist may result in us getting a ridiculous all woman action film.

And if it’s successful? Then every time Hollywood says we can’t have a Black Widow or Wonder Woman movie because female action films don’t succeed we can tell them to ride off a short pier.

And what are the female expendables going to do? Shoot up women?
