It’s telling that I actually had to stare a bit at each of these and tell myself, a lady and feminist, that it was okay that they were wearing pants and not showing a lot of skin.

Here I am busy all fighting the good fight and being critical of sexism and highlighting awesome women and I’ve still been so indoctrinated by the sexism rampant in comics that these heroes seemed off somehow.

  • From where I sit the problem are not revealing outfits but rather the lack of everything else. The redesign of Captain Marvel is amazing and works way better than her old costume. Variety is the spice of life. There should be a time and place for both Emma Frost and Sooraya Qadir aka Dust.

    That being said I really like these attempts. Maybe the comic book artists should take note.
